This is a Bateleur, possibly the world's most colorful eagle. It is native to central and southern Africa.
This one works at the Zoo in Sacramento as an ambassador bird. It is perched on the protected hand of a keeper, which made it impossible to get a shot of its colorful plumage without having the keeper in there. So I limited my work to close-ups of its head. a6500, FE 100-400 GM @ f/8 A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.
