What a pleasure it was to see this Northern Hawk Owl. It is one of my favourite owls to see in the wild. It was very active flying from tree to tree. It disappeared a few times making its circuit trying to find prey. I didn't see it catch anything during the time I was there.
I kept my camera focused on the owl and squeezed the shutter as it took off. This is a naturally obtained shot. The owl actually flew down a bit then veered right and behind to a field about 100 yards away. These owls make our winters a lot more bearable. Canon 7D MK2, 500 f4 II, 1.4x and Gitzo tripod. Thanks for looking. |
