A favorite portrait of a Green Heron. It was a windy day and the goal I had in mind was to select camera settings that would help lend a dramatic, dream-like effect to the turbulent water. Taken hand-held, no cropping.

Canon PowerShot SX40 HS, 150 mm, f/5.8, 1/250 sec, ISO 100.

Lucky you to get this close to a green heron. Looks to me like your focus point was on the neck rather than the eye but you still captured great detail. I think it could stand to be a bit brighter (on my screen anyway).
