It was last winter when this happened. It was early in the morning and the sun was just peeping weakly amidst the for. We were rowing along a small strait of River Teesta. This drake was quietly observing us. Gave us some approach and then took of. In this image I tried to frame the movement of the drake along with the habitat.

Shot with Nikon D500 + Nikkor 300 mm f/2.8 ( VR-I ) + 1.4X TC

f / 7.1

You nailed this one Biru. All of the background color tones compliment the subject nicely. The flight pose is perfect. Goes to show that you don't need a tight shot of the subject to create a great image. I really like it!

Absolutely exceptional- the whole environment is so gorgeous, so much like a painting, and the bird stands out just beautifully. What a gem!

Hard to beat the beauty of a dabbling duck springing to the air from the water, especially in this setting.
