I was amused by this sassy-looking female- I think I interrupted, briefly, her meal of grapes. She did not however, fly away-she just gave me the eye and continued her feast. :D
I find myself struggling to get a clean picture with higher ISO in low light, while trying to increase shutter speed and avoid too much noise. (uh...yes- not surprising!). I did some sharpening and removed extraneous branches for this version.

Great lookback pose. Should get lots of admirers as several folks prefer the female Cardinal over the male!
You seemed to have handled the noise well with a resulting striking image.

Terrific and sassy look back pose, Cindy. The clean background shows off this lovely lady beautifully. Noise does not seem to be a problem in this image. There is a minor cloning artifact below the bird at the bottom, but overall you have done a great job with Mrs.Cardinal. :)

Nice back looking pose. Cute little lady Cardinal. Nice job Cindy with the exposure battle with ISO and noise.

Cindy, that sassy look back pose is fantastic - also love the perch and how that color of BG makes this pretty lady pop - great job!

Cynthia, Entire photo is well done. Based on f/5.6, it looks to me that the focus point might be about the forward portion of the wing, vice right on the eye, based on the sharpness of the tail? What lens did you use?

Hi Gene-sorry- i forgot to put in the lens. It's 300 f/4.  I agree with you on the focus point- missed the eye by a bit. The angle of view was a factor too- hard to grab that eye from where I was standing. Hand held-not always the steadiest........

Quite the little madam, isn't she!  What a disdainful look she's giving you.  :)

I think this image is just delightful, with sweet pose, soft light, and the detail in the uncompressed view is excellent.  I think you've done well with capturing the essence of Mrs C.  and the finished article is a pleasure to view, Cindy.
