Shot this evening. Light was low so I have to shoot shutter speed
1/400. I was using D2Hs. D4 would help me with noise, but I would loose 1.5X crop I get with D2Hs...always trade off.
This is pretty much FF shot cropped to 16x9 aspect ratio.

Please click on the image for uncompressed view, thank you.

D2Hs, 200-500mm f/5.6
1/400, ISO-1600, f/5.6, handheld, VR-ON @500mm

Terrific capture. The vole is a treat and really adds to the photograph, Ludo. The owl looks great, and I like the background habitat.

Ludo, wonderful behavior shot, great job getting the Owl with food item in beak!  Really neat in-habitat image with excellent view of the hunting grounds.

A lovely low light hunting capture with the owl over its natural habitat. You do these so well Ludo, and the vole in the beak is a great bonus. Well done!

Carol.
