This bird is rarely seen and reported, exclusively during spring and fall migration.
This was taken through an open window from my living room.
It was foraging in the backyard kicking up the fallen leaves.
The ground is covered with mostly red leaves and a burning bush still has the vivid red leaves providing perfect hiding place for this reddish bird. High ISO was a necessity.
Thanks for looking.

Lovely portrait, Karl. It's nice to get out but also very nice to shoot from the comfort of your own home from time to time.

Nice find Karl! Looks very similar to Song Sparrow. I love the rusty reddish color.

Karl, what a great find and beautifully captured from the comfort of your living room no less!  Love the color markings, which ties in so nicely with the BG color.  Impeccable details to boot - very well done.

This is such a wonderful find, particularly from your living room, Karl. The background color adds interest, and the detail in the sparrow is excellent. Love the markings on this bird – a very good-looking sparrow.

Great capture. These sparrows rarely visit my location in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, but in spring. They hang out with flocks of Juncos and other sparrows that visit feeders (Tree, Chipping, Song) but they stay in the leaf litter instead. If it snows in the spring and Fox sparrows are around you can shovel off a patch of forest to expose the ground. They will soon find it and you have them for easy photos. In this image you have a little cyan and blue in the grays, which is typical for low light images You can easily reduce the saturation of each during post processing.

Great shot Karl- I wouldn't have dared to use ISO 3200! We have had Fox Sparrows here for just a few days too, and like you, I was shooting through our windows, but didn't dare to open one. I got nothing so sharp as this-had the 1.4 tc on.....anyway-so glad to see this fine representation. They are so rare and beautiful.
