One from a trip a couple weeks back. First light and a draining tidal creek create easy pickings for a slew of birds. This snowy egret was the only bird to pay much attention to me. Slow approach on my belly along the mud bank, enjoyed watching everyone hunt for a while. Full frame, zero crop

Good job of slowly getting into position without alarming the birds. Nice sharp shot of the Snowy in a lovely setting, but the out-of-focus birds on the left pull my attention away from the Snowy, primarily because they are white against a dark background. One option would be a vertical crop of the Snowy, excluding the others. :)

I'm afraid I agree with Ron on this one, Drew. Because the out of focus birds are hit by the light, they show up rather brightly and detract from the in focus and beautifully sharp star of the show standing in the shadow.

Thanks for the critique guys....I knew this one would ruffle some feathers, pun intended. Sometimes the perfect in focus/centered/etc needs a curveball
