Pantanal, Brazil.
While a member of the woodpecker family, the flicker normally feeds on the ground in the fields for insects.

Sounds a lot like our Green Woodpecker, Jake, they mostly feed on the ground and eat a lot of ants. Lovely bright splash of yellow on this one, very striking with the black and white plumage!

Now I know why ours are called "Northern " flicker...new one for me
