Its nice to see Bee-eaters, Mike - but it looks like you've got some lovely birds too.  This is a little beauty!  Not only a bird on a stick, its a bird in a stick, and very nicely done.

I have a particular love for goldfinches, having raised an injured chick (fell out of the nest and injured by somebody's cat).  I took it in to work in a shoe box, and fed it with bread and milk mixture every hour until it progressed on to adult food - I had a very understanding boss!  It could never fly properly with a damaged wing, but I had that adorable litle bird for four years and it loved to sit on my shoulder and tweet in my ear.  It was such a happy little soul.  I don't mind admitting I shed some tears when it finally died.

Carol.

Nice one, Mike. I like the clean background and the pose.
