In the distance I see a crow make a "dive bomb" manoeuver which I recognized from over a decade of owl watching.  I knew it must be the owl's hiding place.  No owl in sight.  Several minutes later, sweeping across my view fairly close, 2 crows sandwiching a white owl like an ice cream sandwich.  Saw the owl disappear behind some brush and likely landing on the ground.

At the same moment, knew I made the wrong decision to leave the camera in the car.  When I returned minutes later, saw the owl perched on a fallen tree.  Crows had left by then.  Had to kneel to keep out of view from passing cars and wished I had knee pads.  Eventually sat down on the hard ground and splayed the tripod legs.

Having this owl to myself is a refreshing change from most winters. The temp was cool and great to have no mosquitos around.

Canon 7D MK2, 500 f4 II, 1.4x III and Gitzo.  ISO 1,600.  Thanks for looking.

Good behaviour story and another lovely rich coloured perch for this beauty, a nice change from a snow setting and a lovely composition.

Thanks Carol.  Rarely do I get an opportunity to see and photograph a snowy owl in a non-winter setting.  Something else I am enjoying is that it's all natural from the snowy owl's behaviour to the perches.

Thanks Mako, Graeme and Karl.  I agree Karl, it was a great find.  Had to figure out when was the best time to see the owl.  BTW, I read on an owl page that they rescued 3 snowy owls from the Niagara area and will be releasing them back up north.  No details on why they were brought in (vehicle collision or some other reason).
