Least Grebe

This photo was taken at the Refugio de Vida Silvestre de Boqueron in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. The water has a reddish color due to tannins released by the mangrove trees in the area. Equipment: Canon EOS 60D, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, 1/800 @ f6.3, ISO 1250.

Nice action capture of the shaking-off behavior. The rings in the water telegraph the grebe’s movement very well. Good work!
