The amazing thing is that the Heron swallowed this big fish after a while.

Catfish for dinner – love it. A wonderful pose with the catfish being held by the heron in the perfect position for this photograph. Excellent work, Karl.

What a nice catch Karl. Good size catfish. I have similar shot from last year were heron speared large catfish and later took of with it. They can swallow some pretty good size prey.

the heron and catfish is perfect with an added bonus for the droplet coming from the fish, superb KARL.

Terrific shot, Karl- I like how well the heron stands out against the dark background. The red in the open beak sparks up the color scheme.
