Photo taken at Laguna Seca Ranch in South Texas April 30, 2018.

Nikon D850, 300mm f2.8 lens, 1.4 TC, 1/2000 sec at f/8.0, ISO 500.

My guess is that this is a Male Harris's Hawk because the Female is larger than the Male.

The pose is excellent with the raised wings, and you acquired very good eye contact, Gene. Another very fine image from Laguna Seca Ranch.

Beautiful hawk. Nice capture. I was able to get some shots of Harris's Hawk in Idaho few years ago.

Beautiful image Gene. I love the raised wings pose, giving us a sweet view of his britches!

Wonderful view with wings up. Really shows how long those legs are!
