taken  2013.I saw him dive into the reeds an kept my camera set on this location. About 20 seconds later he popped up and I captured him

1DM4, 700mm, iso 1000, f6.3, 1/6400

Great in flight pose of the Bittern with wings on the down stroke directly over good-looking natural habitat.

Nice action shot. Good thinking to leave camera focused on the location were it went down and wait for take off shot, patience paid off.
