Photographed on the Vigur Island, Iceland. I am not much of a bird photographer, but the purchase of the 100-400 lens for my a7Rlll plus a 1.4x extender has upped my interest. The inflight capture is a lesson in patience.

Very nice flight shot, James. I like the way the wing frames the head and body. You might consider noise reduction in the background. Nice image.

James, Looks like the focus point might have been on the wing, vice the eye? A pleasing inflight pose. Curious what your camera settings were?

I shot at 1/1600@f10 with auto iso. As I stated in my original post, I am not much of a bird photographer and I am sure my technique needs improvement. So, any and all suggestions for improvement would be most appreciated. Thanks for the comment.I did have a bit of fun photographing these Terns and at the same time protecting my head LOL.
