This is a wonderful image of the Kingbird. I really was taken aback when I saw the color on top of the head.....thought it was an anomaly. Interesting to know it exists....learn something every day. Well done.

The cocked head, with all it reveals, makes the image, Karl. Beautiful photograph.

I didn't see this pattern on kingbird. Very nice picture.

Beautiful pose and a great capture of the seldom seen head flash of colour, Karl. This is what takes good photography to the next level - catching the unique views and the little differences that set the bar between good and great! Well done!

Great to get that seldom seen head pattern and I also like the eye detail.

I've only seen this once before when a kingbird was dive-bombing a perched eagle, nice to get a close up of it like this.
