This is probably my favorite image after spending 2 weeks in Alaska.  It was one of those rare moments when everything came together. I had just gotten out early on my first day when I saw this.  I grabbed my beanbag (I hadn't gotten my tripod set up yet), put it on the picnic table near the shore which made a wonderful blind. The light was beautiful, as the duck and the water was as smooth as glass when he came near shore.

Easy to understand it’s your favorite, Lana. Excellent composition with the duck on the thirds and trailed by its wake, which also is an excellent leading line. Beautiful iridescence revealed on the head, and the reflection is wonderful. Congrats.

No wonder this is a favourite Lana, perfect composition and exposure on this little beauty, while the colour and light on the water create a magical mood!

Beautiful.
