Haven't posted to this forum for many moons. Here goes. Be kind to me.
Found this guy on my first outing with my new Nikon gear a few weeks ago - D500 with Tamron 150-600. Since Hurricane Harvey hit us almost a year ago GBHE is one of the few species that doesn't seen to have been affected. Still lots of them around.

Fantastic image of the heron with the fish it just speared an pulled from the water. The disturbed water from which the heron pulled the fish makes the image, and takes this photograph to the next level. Excellent action shot Bruce!

No need to be kind to you, Bruce. A click on this shot shows the excellent detail you captured in this wonderful action frame. I love the pose with the raised wings, the impaled fish on the bill, and the flying extended water trail linking the action back down to the shallows.

Beautiful image. Well done!

Carol.

Very well done, with your shadow line close to perfect, and great timing.
