Shot this morning. I found this eagle way up on the top of the tree.
I had to find opening between the branches. I found one tine opening to get clear shot. I usually don't take steep up angle shots,
but I couldn't resist and waited for a while for the eagle give me the look. Heavy crop.

D4, 200-500mm f/5.6
1/800, ISO-800, f/5.6, handheld.

Ludo, your effort paid off — a very nice portrait of this eagle. I’ve been in similar circumstances, found an opening, and shot up at an eagle. Like you, I normally don’t like to shoot up, but you sometimes take the opportunity offered.

Nice eyes contact, and the look is making the frame, Ludo.

Ludo, I really like this one! The look makes me think that he's saying, "don't try it, I'm keeping an eye on you."

I think the upwards angle is perfect here, to put this imposing eagle in the power position! Such a regal stare and penetrating eyes. A very striking shot, Ludo!

Great look and lots of detail despite the heavy crop.
