Again other beautiful image of blue bird. The BG, the perch and the pose are very nice.

Great perch and pleasing pose, but for me this would work better as a vertical crop with more of that beautiful perch in the frame.

Beautiful look back pose, Rob. Tim makes a good point on a vertical crop.

I did do a vertical first but felt there was not enough room around the subject so I changed it back to the present crop which opened the image up. Thanks so much guys for your valid comments.

super shot Rob. Sort of get it where the guys suggest the vertical. Difficult as no right or wrong. I'm a sucker for some space, but also recognise for impact and other social media sites, bold is good. Either way, nailed.

Could we imagine Mangelsen's "Born of the North Wind" having the same impact here, (not knocking the internet), versus a 6'x4' print from the Legacy Reserve Collection.

In a round about way I'm probably saying, like Tim and Ron's suggestions, but would love to see the larger view. Oh well!

Rob,

This is your previous Bluebird shot in vertical format I was thinking about. They both are gorgeous!

Rob, When I do not have enough room and do still want a portrait crop, I try a 4 X 5 crop and this usually opens up the image. Regardless, this is an excellent image.

I think you guys are correct, the vertical crop is s much more dramatic.

Thanks for you advice.
