Was in Texas the first week of April and only a few Whooping Cranes were left, most had already begun migration.  Was lucky to see this pair "only" 150 yds away and watched  them fly to the northern horizon.

Welcome, Willie. Very nice take off action with the wings up and the water splashing. Congrats on capturing this pair. It helps others to comment if you list the technical information and camera settings with the image. :)

I was using a Canon 7D II with Canon 500mm f/4 lens.  My truck was the blind with a sack of beans my wife had made for a stabilizer on the window. Taken at 1/2500 ISO 800 f/6.3

Thanks, Willie. Again, congrats on photographing this endangered species, and I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Nicely done Willie, and a lovely flow of motion through the frame with one crane following the other to take off!

Carol.
