I thought I was hearing a dawn chorus until I discovered the culprit. Amazing repertoire of imitative sounds!

Cindy, lovely singing pose and great detail in the Catbird. The high key treatment works very nicely.

I’m not normally a fan of high key backgrounds, but with this subtle palette, it really works. Beautiful pose you captured, too.

SWEET high key treatment of an under-appreciated bird! Love his "fluff", bright eyer, open beak and that great flower.
Just lovely!

Thanks all, for your nice comments. Sandy, he is perched on a Staghorn sumac bush with the remnants of last year's flowers. They are abundant here, but unpopular with the birds until there is nothing else left to eat in the late winter. They make great look-outs though!
