Shot this morning. I am not a big fan shooting in bright sunlight.
This shot was made at 7:48 and sun was already way too strong.
1D4, SIGMA 500mm f/4.5 EX DG HSM
1/2000, ISO-1000, f/7.1, handheld.

Mako, Captured with a nice wing position.  Surprised the sun was too bright, but ISO was 1000.

Very nice in flight woody. I like the crest and the wings position.

Look at the SS 1/2000 and f/7.1 ISO is meaningless in this case anyway. Just a very harsh light. I would prefer overcast with a nice soft light, brings out colors much better.

I feel you handled the difficult light very well, Ludo. Moreover, the flight pose, with wings on the down stroke, is awesome. Finally, love the color revealed on the head.

We don't see many of these beauties in flight - and this is such a beautiful, clear view with downswept wings and visible crest. Well worth a click for the sweet detail and colours, and I love the way the light catches the head. Wonderful image, Ludo!
