Painted Bunting

Photo taken at Laguna Seca Ranch in South Texas May 2, 2018.

Nikon D850, 300mm lens, 1.4 TC, 1/1000 sec at f/7.1, ISO 320.

Photographed four days at the ranch with some friends, which was nice.  Usually only have time to photograph partial days between mowing, cleaning, etc.  Painted Buntings arrive at the ranch about mid-April, with the males arriving first.  Have only looked at one card, but I probably took about 500 Painted Buntings photos total.  Sorry if I post the same bird for a while.

Gene, it's a great species to have multiple images of, and this frame is lovely! The perch and pose work extremely well together.
