Laura -nice picture with both male and female in focus - but these birds are House Finches. I have both in my yard this winter - Cassin's has a very straight pointed bill where as the House Finch has a curved culmen - It will get lot more obvious when you can see the two species at same time

Excellent image - love that you got the pair in the same frame - all 4 eyes focused.

Laura - excellent capture of this pair! Male and female, front and back, great poses and perch, and a very complimentary BG.
Very fine work!

Nice work Laura. Difficult to get good poses and adequate DOF on two subjects at 700mm. Could go brighter IMO.

A wonderful pairing of these finches, Laura. The head turns in the same direction are really special, and the background and perches are excellent. Well done!

Well done to get both male and female together, and alternate views of front and back plumage too! Lovely image Laura.

Beautiful shot of this pair Laura. The opposing poses, prickly perch and beautiful BG all add up to a real solid frame. Well done
