I am currently evaluating the new Nikon 180-400 f/4 with built in 1.4x teleconverter.  It's an impressive lens as it should be for over $12,000.  Here is a photo I took in my backyard this morning with it...

Very nice frame and setting it is a beautiful picture. I can see that final Nikon copy Canon. I had the chance to take the pictures with the same lens from Canon and from the versatility of zoom I like it but 600 mm Mark II is a far better lens.

I've shot with both the Nikon and the Canon at 560 and the Nikon obliterates the Canon at that focal length.  Of course it's much newer and much more expensive.  Without the TC inserted the two lenses are close, with the TC inserted, there is simply no comparison.  I wrote a quick review of the lens:  http://www.ejphoto.com/Quack%20PDF/180-400.pdf

Ej, do you have some examples with the 850?...it is hard to judge a lens with a format that it is isn't designed for.

I just calibrated the Canon lens without/with TC and with extra TC and I had fantastic results but I don't like the balance and the weight distribution of the zoom lens.I don't know about Nikon lens.

What do you mean with a format it wasn't designed for? Sensor size?   I did some lens cals and resolution tests on a D850 but shot my birds with my own D500 which actually has a very slightly higher pixel density and therefore would be more of a test (except of course in the corners).  This is probably better discussed in the thread in the Equipment Forum.
