They are back by the thousands and still have a face only a mother can love. :)

Karl, I think you have done very well here with keeping detail in the dark areas. Not an easy task.

Nice ground level shot Karl! I don't find vultures ugly. for sure they are not a beauty kings and queens :-). When I first saw captive California Condor in World Center for Birds of Prey in Boise, Idaho I was blown away by it's massive size and 10 feet wingspan.
I see Turkey Vulture from time the time where I live, but I can only dream to be able to get shots like this on the ground.

Beautiful job with the exposure, Karl – lots of detail in the blacks. I agree, only the face a mother could love. Great job of isolating the vulture for this shot.

Thanks Ludo. I don't find them ugly either I just tried to be fastidious. In fact I really like the Black Vulture, I have some nice close up shots of them. In fact I have never seen a Bird that is not beautiful on its own right.
