Karl, Great details. I like how the back of the head is mostly showing, to illustrate the red portion of the back of the head. You might be able to bring the greens down so they're lighter. I think this would help highlight the bird from the background?

Very true! Flat light also helped you hold onto the reds nicely!

Thanks Gene. I think you are right. I replaced the image with one that has a lighter background and a brighter overall appearance.
Happier looking image.

What a great looking specimen, Karl. The color, light, background, detail, and exposure all look great. I think this image also would look great cropped vertically. It's a beauty!!!  :)

Nice perch and pose Karl. I do, however, see some Photoshop artifacts in the background - behind the head, under the bill and near the tail. Plus quite a bit of noise in the background. All are easy fixes
