Striking color in this species, and the light illuminates it perfectly. The deep blue water is the perfect accent to show off the color of the bird. Well done, Bob!

This is a beautiful portrait of a very difficult to photograph subject. You did well with the highlight and shadows, maybe a little more extraction of shadow detail but it might be impossible. Sincere congratulations.

So nice! And so jealous! I've seen this bird in the northeastern US a couple times but always from half a mile a away. This is one of my wanted shots.
The whites on his neck are a bit hot, but exposure on these super high contrast birds is really, really tough. If you could selectively that hot patch down, this shot would be about perfect.
