The best place that I found to photograph this hummingbird is The Tandayapa Lodge in NorthWest Ecuador close to the town of Nanegalito. Mr. Ian Cambell has been feeding hummingbirds for more than 20 years, they are so spoiled that they always abundant, at times you can count 20 different species before finishing a cup of coffee. Mr. Campbell is an example how a foreigner (South Africa) with a dream of conservation, has helped the Ecuadorian economy giving a steady source of employment to several local families. Very photographer friendly, the staff will bend backward to accommodate your needs. Canon 100-400 L Lens 5 550 flashes 1/200 f 18
