Shot yesterday at the same spot were I got the Marsh Wren shot posted earlier. I had my setup with 500mm + 1.4X TC on tripod under the camo net waiting for ducks. This duck came from the right side. I had some cover from cattails. Duck didn't even know I was there until I pulled the trigger and it was gone like a rocket.
First time I have seen Ring-necked Duck. It has very bright yellow eye. This is FF shot with no crop. I didn't have the time to take 1.4X TC of, it would fill the frame better. But I am not complaining, I take what I got. 1D4, SIGMA 500mm f/4.5 EX DG HSM + 1.4X TC (700mm) 1/600, ISO-640, f/6.3 (wide open) on tripod. Please click on the image for uncompressed view, thank you. |
