Photo taken at Laguna Seca Ranch in South Texas March 8, 2018.

Nikon D850, Nikon 300mm f/2.8 lens, Nikon 1.4 TC, 1/400 sec at f/6.3, ISO 1000.

Couldn't get enough shutter speed to allow a really sharp image, but I thought it was an interesting image.

A powerful image, Gene. The hawk’s framing of the deceased with its wings, coupled with its calling pose with an open beak, tells a serious and powerful story: “This is mine, stay away.”

Nice action shot...is this a baited shot? Can't imagine the hawk taking a raccoon.

Mike, Way too many raccoons in S. Texas and often find them as road kill.  Picked it up and used it.  Aree that I do not believe a Harris's Hawk could take a raccoon, but it will obviously take advantage of a roadkill.
