Ferruginous Hawk

Caught this beautiful juvenile male a few years ago in a Nice banking pose as he headed back to his perch after missing a gopher. 
These raptors specialize in eating gophers whole. You can see the elongated beak which enables them to swallow their prey whole. 
They are also North America's largest Buteo (hawk).
