Here is a Ring-necked Duck that I photographed while my wife and I walked our dog in Golden Gate Park this past weekend. I must confess I don’t do much - if any - flat light shooting as I save those days for biking and birding. So, I hope this works. Probably could have dropped as stop of ISO for a bit more detail, but there it is.

Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS II on EOS 7D Mark II

Processed in Lightroom. Cloned out a half dozen spots on water’s surface.

Nice low shot..the trouble with flat light is that you don't get that purple head

Very nice low angle shot Dorian! I prefer cloudy days over bright sunny days with the exception of "Golden Hour".

Lovely shot with a nice perspective. My favorite duck "Exposed".

I don't see where there's much improvement in this image.  Good light; good color; good angle; very sharp.

It works for me! Beautiful image - and love the soft light which shows off this sweet ring neck so well!
