The gray spot is very interesting, but I have no idea what caused it. Great detail in this one, and the pose is excellent. Super eye contact.

Sweet pose and beautiful detail. My guess is some sort of injury that caused the feathers there to discolor.

Found this on a duck breeder site:

''Ducks turn white with age. White ducks are white their whole lives, but dark-colored ducks slowly develop white patches in their feathers as they age, just like human hair. Eventually, when they are very old, they may become entirely white.''

Whether this has anything to do with this lovely subject....... who knows?
