Shot in February 2017. This was late afternoon shot with sun getting really low. I waited for this light. I spotted 2 owls hunting on western part of the fields, so I moved closer, ducked down hiding in tall gras and waited for one of them would fly closer. One of them did.
Camera was set in fully manual mode (my preferred). I took the reading of the grass that was similar to owl's brightness. This way I didn't have to worry about good exposure when the owl would get backlight by sun. 1D4, EF300mm f/2.8L USM NON-IS 1/2000, ISO-500, f/2.8, handheld Please click on the image for uncompressed view, thank you. |
