Lesser Scaup - Tempe, Arizona
D500, 500mm, ISO 400, f/7.1, 1/800s
Got lucky recently when the water levels at this pond in central Tempe flooded right up to sidewalk level and even spilling over ever so slightly.  By simply resting the front element at the edge of the sidewalk it was possible to shoot these guys in the water with the camera sensor actually slightly below eye level.  I waited for what seemed like hours but was probably more like 10 minutes :) to get two birds in the same focus plane.

A wonderful low perspective with great symmetry, EJ. The fact that both ducks are in focus makes it well worth your effort.

Fun! As a die-hard birder, I love seeing comparison shots like this. Very cool.

Just wow!! The lens hood got wet on that one. Super low angle with the corresponding BG. Cropped just perfectly.
The thumbnail did not do justice to the picture. You must have struggled with that.

Great shot - nice to see them both together in the same frame.

Well worth waiting to get all your ducks in a row and what a great result!
