This is a one of your best images so far Gene. The detail is amazing and the perch and background are equally nice. The only thing I question is the addition of the 2 flowers at the bottom which I think detract rather than add to the image overall (just my opinion).

I agree with everything Bob said, except I like the flowers. Gene, this looks like a fine painting.

Bob, I pretty much agree with you regarding the flowers.  That being said, it might be close to 50--50 if you asked 100 photographers about adding the flowers to the image.  I was at the ranch and someone else was already using this set-up.  I photographed for a few minutes and then went back to working around the ranch.  You can credit--or--discredit Ruth Hoyt for this set-up.  I was happy with the photo's detail and texture.

This is a winner! Graded BG and purple flower complement great pose and sharpness.
Perch is cool too. Well done.

Wow, it's a beauty. The D850 shines in good hands. One of your best images I would say.

Superb image, Gene. The flowers don't add anything for me but the bird and perch are stunning!
