A handsome landing shot, Paul. The wing spread and extended talons make it for me. The snow creates a great winter mood.

I really like this image, but as a photographer looking at it, i can only imagine what it could have been if you were capturing it from the front. It looks very natural and i'd like to think it wasn't landing there as a result of someone throwing food out for it. If that was the case i am sure you would have caught it coming straight on and not from the side as you have.

Michael Ashbee. Today I will post a shot of this owl after it caught the Red-backed vole it heard under the snow.
