Shot last May. I found the mommy hidden in the woods. It seemed that I would not be able to get clear shot I found tiny opening between the branches. This is moderately cropped image.
1D4, EF300mm f/2.8L USM NON-IS + 2.0XTC II (600mm f/5.6)
1/250, ISO-1600, f/5.6 handheld.

I think it's a great portrait, Ludo! I like how the little pieces of vegetation frame the owl. Killer eye contact.
