Great Blue Heron

Shot few days ago at nearby fields. This heron was fishing from top of the log. I got the whole bird including feet and the log in the frame, but background was so ugly...just solid white. So I cropped it to see what I get. Result is a portrait :-)

1D4, SIGMA 500mm f/4.5 EX DG HSM
1/160, ISO-800, f/7.1 on tripod

Beautiful high key portrait. Nice high key's are difficult to pull off and you did it here.

Beautiful high key presentation, Ludo. Viewed large, the detail is simply awesome. A little more space at the top would be nice if you have it, but overall this is a great portrait. Well done!
