Shot January 2017. This was late afternoon shot with some light still left. This owl made sharp 180 deg turn and headed straight for me and looking straight into the lens. Light was majestic with a different shades and brightness depending on the grass.
The Canon 300mm f/2.8  wide open blurred everything nicely except the face were the focus point was.

This pose and setting are incredible. I might crop a bit more of the left and bottom as those regions of the frame do feel a bit empty to me. But then again I tend to crop my photos right on the border of what might be considered too tight!
