Shot in March 2017. This shot was made in early morning light. Sun just came out. Owl came fairly close. There was some grass patches between me and the owl creating some blur. Luckily camera's AF remained locked on the bird. I was shooting with 300mm f/2.8 + 2.0X TC.

1D4, EF300mm f/2.8L USM NON-IS + 2.0X TC II (600mm f/5.6)
1/2500, ISO-1250, f/7.1, handheld.

I like the touch of habitat in this one.....it really gives a great feeling of depth to this one. Well done.

another sublime shot Ludo.  Get it re the grasses but the camera AF nailed it, as I've been there a few times too.  Nice one

Your Short-eared Owl Images are top-notch, Ludo, and this one is no exception! Great flight pose, and excellent placement of the owl within the frame. The habitat is a bonus! Very well done!
