Photo taken at Laguna Seca Ranch in South Texas in 2014.  One that I found looking back at some older photos that had not been processed.

Nikon D7100, 300mm lens, 1/3200 sec at f/8.0, ISO 800.

Gorgeous shot Gene. Love that pose. Do these guys stick around the ranch until early June by any chance? I will have a week in south Texas then (not ideal for birds i know). Cheers
Thanks for looking,

Mike, this photo was taken May 14th.  Looked back at some Painted Bunting photos from last year and some were taken as late as June 27th.  The males begin leaving in July.  Actually, the beginning of June in South Texas is still pretty good.  Starting the middle of July until early September the plumage begins to look bad.
