Unique action and behavior frame, Mike. The sharpness is not bad at all. I have not seen this precise behavior before, but it could be a fight over food (e.g. fish) in midair. I've seen this a lot with Bald Eagles. I'm not that familiar with terns, but perhaps someone who is will chime in.

Thanks Ron. I felt it was possibly unique as have not seen it either and I did not see any fish involved (they usually swallow them on the upflight...) but it happened SO fast. Hope to see this with eagles and hawks one day....

I've never seen it before but it really is unique. I love to see this type of image.....certainly something to think about.

Well spotted and caught, Mike!    One or two are often seen, but three adds a whole new dimension.  :D

Sharpness is not bad at all considering the aerial interaction between this trio!  Well done.

Carol.
