My first avian post in a long time . . .
There are a number of wintering bald eagles in my area, either seeking fish in areas of open water or on a few occasions, eating a carcass of a deer that fell through the ice or placed by a town highway department. While many nature photographers here pursue eagle flight shots and opportunities exist here, there are also roadside car as blind opportunities of a few eagles on ice at a decent distance that allow for nice plumage detail. This was taken with my Canon 100-400 ii and 1.4x iii from a bean bag in car and then cropped a bit . . . 7D Mk2. Jeff Nadler
