I spent a bit of time at Merit Island NWR (Florida) yesterday and it was a bit dead for bird activity. However I did find 4 spoonbills in with a group of other waders. I was able to get my best spoonbill images despite hand holding the 600mm in pretty brisk winds.

Please click image for uncompressed view, thanks.

Bob, Handholding a 600 is impressive. Clicking on the image really shows off the excellent details. Well Done.

The Spoonbills are incredible when they are in their breeding plumage. Awesome job with the flight shot.....and love the water droplets coming off the feet.

Such a pleasing flight shot of this beautiful bird, Bob. It's good for you that you do it hand holding. So do I with the 500 +1.4.
