Baikal Teal.

Going through some old files I've not posted before, came across this handsome drake who passed through and was gone again a couple of days later.  Possibly a migrant, or escapee - who knows!  Couldn't get any lower but I had to get a couple of shots while I had the chance.

10D. Sigma 100-300F4 + 1.4TC.  ISO 400. F8.

Scottish Highlands, a few years back, Richard.  I am not saying exactly where as its one of our favourite places to enjoy peace and quiet by the side of a loch, and I don't want that to change any time soon.  :)   I haven't seen one since - but there have been reports of them turning up in various places in the UK - in fact they have been seen in Oxford, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk in the last couple of years - all much closer to where I live, so maybe I won't need to wait for the next Scotland trip!

Carol.
