Did you lift the blacks a lot? It looks slightly hazy

It is too much difficult to find the bird out side the wet-land like this. In the early morning I find it for a few second in a worse light. No I did not lift the black which you have said. I lift the shadow only.

Wonderful image!
Those long toes are perfect for walking around on plants and lilly pads.
Great colours, nice pose and BG, and perfect placement.
Might possibly benefit from a touch more saturation and sharpening.
